Colorado’s Newest News Blog for Non-Corporate News and Opinion

Power to the people
Wheels Up
I am leaving Wisconsin, the state I have lived in for most of my life and the home of the former Elmont Farm, where I was born, for better opportunities and to shut down Wisconsin Confidential and to start and do this blog.

Situation;
I have decided that after years of being offered unpaid “opportunities” in Wisconsin by so many self entitledIMG_4624 and well to do business’s and Appleton Skating Rink at Night (3)business people, theirs is not the only social class in society that should be so generously rewarded.  I have published my blogs and produced their photography and video for over 7 years now.  As the State of Wisconsin would like the thousands of dollars of taxes off the income that they say I made blogging (I didn’t earn a dime, Bloggers who publish serious content just don’t make money … or get paid), it may just be the fact that I don’t pucker up to their rears as some of the bloggers and producers I have seen be so successful regardless of their lack of talent or ability do.  I am very aware of folks who netted over 1 million dollars, and brag they didn’t pay a dime in taxes.  Of course, they are members of the GOP and big donors to the corporateA Big Bank photo by Marcel Kuemmet Photography cause.  I of course am considered a liberal democrat, though I relentlessly support the 2nd amendment among other conservative causes.  So I have decided to take my resources and abilities to Colorado.  The new land of the Free.  They call it the “Wisconsin Brain Drain”.
As I have traveled and interviewed people from all over the nation, I have learned that this attitude of entitlement of income and social status does not flourish everywhere in this country.  I have learned that there are still places that ability, experience and the skills to create, that are acquired through years of study and practice, are still valued as more than just an asset to be taken advantage of and profited from.   The changes I have seen in attitudes Marcel, Panama, 1980.0and values in Wisconsin, giving value mostly to the upper income earners and well connected, is the leading
cause of my decision.
Years ago, when I decided to join the Army,  the Airborne, and the Rangers, I felt as I was to serve all Americans. Marcel_RANGER_Kuemmet.2_001 It seams to appear that I was incorrect in that assumption.  It is clear now that the labors of most Americans are not as valued as the status of a few.  That is not the America that
I was taught in school was the greatest country on Earth.   We now have a slave labor class. We now incarcerate more of our citizens than any other country on Earth, mostly for non-violent offenses.   Offenses that simply offend or threaten the designs, profit margins and bonus’s of our financial elites, corporate leaders, and the PAC’s and politicians they support with big money.
There is a place in our country that is leading the way in what I call real world life and liberty.   I wish to be a part of it.  I wish to also lead the way in changing the country for the better.  In the general words of a man I know named Austin, “we want America to be the country that we teach our children that it is”.  That is the country I want to live in. That is where I Marcel, Ranger Kuemmetam going.  You can watch video of the speech at left, or watch the full report at … http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM7lAx6HOF8&hd=1.
Mission;
A nation in which someone can work a physically hard job and yet not deserve the most basic needs.  A nation in which someone can work a job that require skill, talent, and dedication.   A nation in which someone can work a job, or in some cases, more than one job, and still be forced to live in poverty and be homeless.  A nation in which someone can work a fulltime job and not be able to pay their Flag for Nat Anthem cover[5]bills.  As the money/power brokers who have much, or most already, and must have it all, and then more than it all.  A nation in which the value of the labors of working Americans do not justify a living wage that one can more than just subsist on.  A nation in which that wage might restrict those who sit and watch from the top and may limit them only to wealth and not extreme wealth.  A nation in which when the suggestion of a living wage is considered subversive,
and must be a socialist theology, un-American, and a threat to our national security.   When the obvious only solution is the re-institution of legalized slavery (of course, that would make the money takers responsible for their slaves and would not allow them 200603241441263to pawn the welfare of their slaves off to the government and the tax payer) or an exponential increase of today’s slave labor class …  which is how it is now.  A nation that embraces such values, is not the greatest nation on earth.  Not even close.
Once, the nation we live in valued things like hard work, talent, and creativity.  But now in this nation, when those who profit from destroying the retirement of those who earned it, and the economy upon which it was created, and then are rewarded with status and financial
bonus’s paid for with funds taken through taxes, from those who earned it but cannot really afford to give it … that nation is doomed.  And those who brought us to this are the ones who have the most to loose.  It’s too bad that they are also too shortsighted to see this as they are only focused on short term gains and maximizing profit  margins … every quarter.  Of course many are simple know nothings.  As I was once astonished to learn that Schneider National Trucking’s VP of IT was clueless when I asked him if the company’s new computers were to be based on 34 bit or 64 bit architecture.
Execution;
So as I stated in the title, this is just one of the first postings on this, Colorado’s newest blog page.  On my Marcel face winter croppedstandard personal photography blog, Marcel Kuemmet Photography, I have updates and links to my other pages based on and from my new and past locations.
